Up! Up! And away!

Recently at Felicity and Pat Byrnes wedding they used a helicopter to travel to their reception. It proved a great way to beat the traffic that day!

It's not the first time I've seen a helicopter at a wedding - but it is the first time I've been to a wedding where a guest - the very well known comedian Brendan Grace - lent it to the happy couple!

The couple used the twin engined Bell JetRanger III (EI LAF, geddit !?!) to fly the 90 minute road trip from Killaloe to Castle Durrow (www.castledurrow.com) - in just 15 minutes.

If you are thinking about a helicopter I'm told you need to be aware that in Ireland we are not always lucky with the weather for flying, there are sometimes problems with availability of landing facilities and it can be difficult to get the timing right on the day.

If you are planning something similar for your wedding - and it is to be a surprise - don't forget to tell the Hotel, the Videographer, Chauffeur and me beforehand - we're all professionals and we can be expected to keep secrets! Posted by Picasa
